Role purpose

​

The Superintendent – HR forms part of the Marampa Human Resources & Training team, whose function to assist in managing, co-ordinating, and controlling business activities, related to Industrial Relations, Recruitment, Change Management, HR Services, Training & Development and Organisational Design, providing an integrated and effective service, ensuring the achievement of operational objectives and provision of technical (HR&T) guidance and advise.

The Superintendent Human Resources must assist in providing specialist and generalist operational and tactical HR support to site leaders in the areas of performance management, employee relations, disciplinary procedures, workforce planning and policy interpretation & advice.

Accountabilities

 

  • Ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies, procedures, objectives and regulations and the commitment to achieving Zero Harm through safe behaviours.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant HR policies, procedures, objectives and regulations through appropriate behaviours.

  • Provide guidance and support to site leaders through formal and informal coaching  on a number of HR related topics

  • Assist the HRM with activities to support employee engagement through the application of successful Employee Relations Management Plan (ERMP)

  • Provide advice and support to management on appropriate organisation and team structures; (including headcount) to meet operational objectives.

  • Play a key role in the establishment of SL Mining HR policies and processes.

  • Assist in establishing and embedding HR processes to ensure rigour and consistency regarding matters such as policy interpretation, employee relations cases, salaries, allowances, headcount planning, role grading, etc.

  • Facilitate case management process of employee performance related issues, through to termination if necessary

  • Ensure all roles have updated and approved position descriptions.Coordinate annual review of position descriptions.

  • Monitor, evaluate and implement HR improvements as directed in order to increase operational effectiveness and efficiency

  • Assist in monthly reports on defined HR metrics and implement plans to achieve key performance areas.

  • Facilitate fortnightly employee engagement meetings with site management and workers representatives.

  • Provide guidance and leadership to HR team members

 

​KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

 

The Superintendent Human Resources will require knowledge, skills and experience in the following areas:

​

Knowledge/Education:

  • Tertiary education in business related studies, preferably HRM

  • High level of English numeracy and literacy

  • MS Office – medium application skills

  • IT systems – HRIS, preferably Pronto

 

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to all members of the organisation.

  • Ability to influence and guide senior leadership

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong Leadership behaviours

 

Experience:

  • Exposure to multi-national, ethnic and cultural environments

  • 5 years’ industry experience

  • 3 years’ experience in a similar role
