Who We Are
For over a decade, we have worked with organisations across sectors to acquire, manage, develop and engage talent.
The Africa Literacy Project is an initiative by Diatom Impact and JobSearch, which aims to leverage mobile technology to scale literacy projects across Africa, starting in Sierra Leone. We also work in partnership with development agencies and international foundations committed to changing the narrative and practice of development in Africa.
The pilot in Sierra Leone seeks to teach functional literacy skills to 500 women, youth and persons with disabilities in Freetown this year, following which we aim to increase the number of literate adults across the country by at least 50,000 by 2023.
Other objectives of the Africa Literacy Project are to contribute towards building a culture of lifelong learning in Sierra Leone by developing a skills development fund for the improvement of learning spaces, and provision of scholarships for TVET, apprenticeship and literacy programmes.
The pilot programme will be launched in Freetown on 8 September 2020.
